Pool day

I went swimming for a bit last week.
Floating on my back and looking up at the clouds I tried to somehow block out the sounds of those around me. I embraced the illusion that I was alone and in a wide expanse of deeper waters.

I watched the clouds in the sky appear to roll by and pushed out every thought, worry and problem; focusing on keeping afloat.

Unfortunately, this serenity didn't last for long. It's difficult to hang on to the Straight Arrows of adulthood when being immersed in water reminds me of my fondest childhood memories.

I'd say it's the second place I've been to this year that made me feel completely comfortable. And the first in a while.

I shall definitely go back.
Often.

You desribed the experience so well. I love floating or sitting by the pool. Pity I can't swim.

Nice blog.

This is so lovely. Reminds me of how I felt today walking down a path near my apartment watching the leaves fall. Thanks for visiting my blog, I love yours :)
