A Morning Headache

- I wrote this at 10.25am no disrespect meant, I wasn't in a receptive mood during a presentation, and so...

Fade cut
and he "speaks so well"
I wonder if he listens.
Bound inside his black suit
is self defined charisma.

Do you care if my head's on fire
and threatens to
explode?
And temples throb and pulse
and all?
Body Temp begins to fall.

- You say we're quiet and don't talk.
You stole the floor.
Try to open it up.

Okay...its open
but must you shout?
Because your words bounce off
the inside of my skull.
Like banging drums and clanging bells,
a falling chandelier.
I put my thumbs above my ears.

Pressure
...carries me to...here?
Where the breeze blows past my face.
Sun hugs.
Feet trailing in cool water.
Birds chirp - the sound of children playing.
Home.

Until the throbbing starts anew
- setting sun
biting cold.
whipping wind
warmth shuns....

-Here's to....that moment just before a jump off the high dive, the high-speed blender mix of Should I and I Shouldn't. And making people smile. Here's to that.

Ok...so you were not listening...did he think you were taking down "serious" notes?
You know my absolutely fav part of this piece?

"Here's to....that moment just before a jump of the high dive, the high-speed blender mix of Should I and I Shouldn't. And making people smile. Here's to that"-That was hot! Great piece.

Hmm...how many times will I tell you to get your behind published?

As mystifying as poetry is to me, I can't help but marvel at the way it unearths deep emotions.

'Wherever I go, I find a poet has been there before me' - Sigmund Freud

He obviously hit on something there.

I may not understand the cold effervescence of your personality, but the depth of your work, its laconicity and sheer brilliance rival my self induced orgasms! I'm cooooooming!!!

Afrobabe: Thanks girl

tommeh: *Grin* No qualms, I'll be back.

Funms: Thanks alot :)

Rita: Lol. Possibly. Dude likely thought I was just being quiet. I wrote it in stages though.

NigerianDramaQueen: Sweet! I hate to drop a post without a 'Here's to'.

doug: I dunno... Niiice quote. I'mma have to cop that.

-and normal is boring. But you know this. No undermining my brilliance, poetic or otherwise.

Whole Truths: I'll take that as a comparison to...your writing?
Thanks man.
