A Life Well Lived

Grand 'ups', they were.
So full of mirth.
Necks creased in laughter,
lips bowed in smiles.

Now, as the edge of
a leaf on an evergreen tree,
miles away. Gone in a
blink, yet fondly recalled.

Snow capped peaks flanked
by carnivorous craters:
valleys of dried tears and lost hopes.
Long forgotten and ill remembered.
