NaPoWriMo Day 24: Growth
Day 24: About Masonry
a wall that is built over time
Does it house memories of
times long past. Does it recall
when it was just a brick?
Dark, heavy bricks have formed
as one, do they mumble in a voice
and ask 'How come?' or 'Why that one?'.
If a bit gets worn in a bottom
corner does the middle
comfort or tease?
Or does the whole collection
sigh when the northeast section
feels a breeze?
Old, angry spots are less so
now. Bright red has faded
into gray. As mallet strikes
and as cracks form - will
this divide smile as it gives way?
A curious thing sits in a heap
where conversation flows -
where music plays. Hardly
even missing the days
when it was just
a wall.

Here's to growth, wisdom, peace, and conceptual pieces :)
